Job summary

Advanced Machining and Tooling LLC is seeking a Sales Engineer in Poway, CA to generate quotes and proposals, serving as the main liaison between AMT and its customers. You will interact with all departments to ensure accurate quoting and provide ongoing feedback to management and clients.

The role requires CAD proficiency, GD&T knowledge, and strong communication. Full-time, on-site work with a structured benefits package and performance-driven objectives.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Strong GD&T knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interpret RFQs, engineering drawings and material specs.
• Strong organizational skills to manage quotes, POs and handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming RFPs/quotes and review technical information and drawings.
• Receive and process POs, create documents, and transfer info to operations.
• Maintain relationships with customers and deepen partnerships.
• Manage multiple quotes and deadlines, following up with customers.
• Serve as main contact, request clarifications, suggest alternatives, update progress.
• Lead meetings and facility tours, articulate capabilities and value.
• Prepare recurring status meetings and forecasts, assist with budgets.
• Strive to achieve KPI targets defined by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $120,000.00 Annually

Job Title:Sales Engineer

Location:Onsite/Poway, CA
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-exempt (hourly), In-Person
Hours:7:00 AM – 3:30 PM PST

Reports To: General Manager

About the Role:

The Sales Engineer is responsible for generating quotes and proposals for work that meets AM&T’s core competencies. This position acts as the main point of contact between AM&T and its customers. Additionally, this position will interact with all departments to ensure jobs are quoted accurately and to provide reoccurring feedback to management and customers as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate incoming request for proposals / quotes and review all associated technical information and drawings.
• Receive and process incoming purchase orders, create appropriate documents, and transfer information to operations
• Maintain excellent relationships with current customers and seek to deepen and strengthen the relationships.
• Manage multiple active quotes and deadlines while following up with customers.
• Serve as the point of contact with customers, requesting clarifying information, suggesting alternative materials and methods, updating progress, etc.
• Take meetings with customers and give facility tours as needed. Communicate AM&T’s capabilities and sell the value-added AM&T provides to its customers.
• Prepare and present to our customers recurring status meetings as required.
• Prepare/update sales forecasts and assist with quarterly budget updates.
• Strive to achieve goals and KPI’s as defined by General Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all Advanced Machining and Tooling policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with CAD software
• Strong GD&T knowledge
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to assist with a variety of tasks in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to interpret RFQ’s, engineering drawings, and material specifications
• Strong organizational skills to manage quotes, purchase orders, and internal handoffs

Nice to Have:

• BS in Engineering
• Experience with various manufacturing processes (ex: heat treat, chem film etc.), and machining processes, materials and cost drivers
• Experience quoting parts from drawings
• Experience with tight tolerance parts
• Experience in precision engineering and aerospace
• Understanding of ERP/job-tracking systems
• Ability to prepare and deliver customer presentations or facility tours

Total Rewards Package

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually (depending on experience). This is a permanent, exempt (salaried), full-time position.
