Job summary

Addison Group in the Chicago area is seeking a Sales Engineer to drive market expansion for HVAC-R and Electrical/BMS products. This permanent inside sales role focuses on warm and cold outreach, pipeline building, and moving opportunities toward closure while preparing for broader national coverage.

The candidate will take over current accounts, develop new customers, and contribute to a future VP Sales trajectory; on-site with possible hybrid flexibility, travel within the US required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in a sales role involving outbound business development (internship okay).
• Likable and capable of building relationships with customers.

Role Overview

• General Overview: We are looking for a permanent inside sales representative who can help our client market new engineering products and services to expand into new market segments as they roll out industry leading products. In the near term, this candidate will be taking over communicating to some of our current in-house accounts and help push our products to current and new customers as they are developed. Long term, this position may transition into a VP Sales role where they will be responsible for building a nation-wide sales network for our products in our focus industries of HVAC-R and Electrical/BMS.
• The beginning of the role will be a lot of warm/cold outreach and pipeline building. First deal expected to take about 8 months.
• This role is a much heavier sales than technical role.

Critical Skills/Technologies

• Engineering Degree (Electrical preferred)
• At least one year of experience in sales role that involved outbound business development efforts (internship experience is okay)
• Likable and capable of building relationships with customers

Desired Skills/Technologies

• Experience selling hardware products (not software / SaaS)

Experience/Degree/Certifications Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Electrical Engineering preferred

Office Status

• On site M-F, hybrid flexibility can be offered further into employment. Travel to customers in the US required.
