Job Summary

The Sales Development Specialist will focus on filling the sales funnel, supporting the Regional New Business teams by understanding Inland’s products and target audiences to generate, nurture, and qualify leads, aligning with sales goals and strategies. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and data-driven reporting. It is a feeder position for growth into a Sales Representative role.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and manage a leads funnel within a defined US region, overseeing qualification and management strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a prospect database using CRM and prospecting tools.
  • Initiate contact via calls, emails, MS Teams, and visits to identify decision makers and introduce Inland’s offerings.
  • Manage database reporting, dashboards, and list acquisition to ensure quality leads.
  • Explore, capture, and contact leads proactively.
  • Share competitor insights to support negotiations.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to identify needs and business opportunities.
  • Overcome objections with a positive attitude.
  • Use sales tactics to address prospects’ needs and pain points.
  • Build relationships to identify opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to manage pipeline and conversion rates.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing quotes, proposals, and presentations.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events to generate leads.
  • Gather market feedback and share with sales and marketing teams.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, strategies, and industry trends.
  • Develop relationships across departments to increase product awareness.
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Create and review SOPs for responsibilities and processes.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields with 2+ years of outbound sales or lead generation experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Outgoing, personable, and persuasive.
  • Ability to negotiate and handle objections.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Proficient with MS Office, CRM, prospecting tools, and eager to learn new systems.
