POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for supporting the Software Sales Team through outbound prospecting, inbound lead qualification, account research, event outreach, and development of qualified sales opportunities for Concepts NREC’s engineering software solutions. Works directly with one or more Sales Managers, including the Americas, and provides a development path toward a future Territory Sales Manager role.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts outbound prospecting within assigned territories, industries, and target accounts using industry databases, conference lists, and other sales tools.
  • Engage prospective customers through telephone, email, LinkedIn, virtual meetings, and other appropriate outreach methods.
  • Responds to and qualifies inbound leads from the company website, webinars, campaigns, referrals, conferences, and other sources.
  • Research target accounts, key contacts, applications, current software tools, technical challenges, project timing, and potential business needs.
  • Qualify prospects and schedules discovery meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations, and follow-up meetings for Sales Managers and Applications Engineering personnel.
  • Works with assigned Sales Managers to support territory plans, target-account strategies, prospecting campaigns, pipeline-development goals, and account-expansion initiatives.
  • Maintains consistent follow-up and nurturing of prospects that are not yet ready for direct Sales Manager engagement.
  • Works with Sales Managers and Marketing to identify and engage customers and prospects attending conferences, trade shows, workshops, and industry events, including pre-event meeting scheduling and post-event follow-up.
  • Maintains accurate and timely prospects, company, activity, and opportunity information in CRM and provides reporting on meetings, lead conversion, opportunities, and pipeline generated.
  • Develops a working understanding of Concepts NREC’s CAE and CAM software solutions, customer applications, turbomachinery markets, and competitive landscape.
  • Participate in product training, sales meetings, opportunity reviews, customer discussions, demonstrations, and industry education.
  • Gathers and communicates prospect feedback, competitive information, market trends, and emerging customer requirements to appropriate internal teams.
  • Progressively assumes greater responsibility for discovery discussions, customer meetings, account development, and selected opportunities in preparation for potential advancement into a Territory Sales Manager role.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, science, communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. One to three years of experience in sales development, business development, inside sales, marketing, customer service, technical support, or another customer-facing role preferred. Experience with engineering software, industrial technology, manufacturing technology, SaaS, or other technical products is a plus.

Skills & Competencies: Strong oral and written communication skills. Comfortable initiating professional conversations by telephone, email, LinkedIn, video conference, and in person. Strong research, organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills. Must be persistent, professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated, coachable, and able to manage multiple accounts and activities.

Technology: Experience with CRM preferred. Experience with sales tools, or account-research tools preferred.

Other special job requirements: Strong interest in developing a career in technology or engineering-software sales. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, technically oriented global organization and travel periodically for conferences, customer meetings, training, and company events. Technical education or experience related to engineering, manufacturing, CAE, CAD, CAM, CFD, or turbomachinery is a plus.
