As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will strategize with your team, reach out to Mid-Market and Fortune 1000 companies, and showcase Actian's technology and unique value proposition. Supported by Actian’s data technology and innovative sales automation tools, you will be responsible for prospecting new business and developing skills for advancement into senior sales roles, including Senior SDR, Territory outside sales, and Enterprise Account Executive.
Business Development Representative Responsibilities:
- Qualify prospects by gathering necessary information and documenting it into a sales plan using salesforce.com.
- Stay organized, synthesize, and report learnings from client interactions regularly to sales management and account executives, taking ownership of converting data points into sales opportunities.
- Work collaboratively within a sales team environment, including SDRs, Account Executives, Technical Engineering, and Customer Success teams.
- Make the best first impression with prospective customers, secure meetings, and create positive initial interactions.
- Utilize advanced sales and prospecting tools (including Actian Avalanche - Customer 360) to plan and connect with potential clients creatively.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential accounts based on territory and team collaboration, leveraging prospect scoring and prioritization tools.
- Plan outreach strategies using multi-channel methods (phone, email, social media) to differentiate Actian and engage prospects effectively.
- Build relationships and generate awareness with key decision-makers, tailoring messaging to various stakeholders to communicate Actian’s value.
- Discover customer pain points and effectively communicate Actian’s story and success cases to highlight its role as a game changer in multi-cloud data and analytics.
This is a remote position for SDR candidates located in the Pacific Northwest Region (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana).
Key Objectives:
- Qualify accounts and prospects, leading to new sales opportunities, and manage leads strategically within your territory.
- Conduct account and prospect research to build an organized, comprehensive customer database using prospecting tools.
- Develop key messaging and content to target our Ideal Customer Profile, Personas, and Account ABM strategies.
- Achieve qualified meeting and opportunity creation quotas consistently.
- Maintain an organized territory plan and accurately update Salesforce.com with opportunity and follow-up information.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- At least 6 months of sales or service experience; prior success in a Sales Development role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with managers, executives, and customers via phone, email, and social media.
- A proven track record of success in goal-driven environments.
- Creativity, self-motivation, and the ability to independently plan and execute improvements.
- An inquisitive mindset about data, analytics, and new technology, with a desire to help enterprises solve problems innovatively.
- Team-oriented, results-driven, with excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with email campaigns and templates.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS and analytics is advantageous.
- Prior sales training and familiarity with Salesforce.com is a plus.
- Ability to learn and use modern sales prospecting tools such as ZoomInfo, SalesLoft/Outreach.
