About the Role

We are seeking a driven and highly motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team. As an SDR at Mattered, you will be on the frontlines of our growth efforts. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities through outbound outreach. This role is critical to helping expand Mattered’s client roster and strengthen our position in the market.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident communicating with executives at emerging and established brands, and is relentless in their pursuit of new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  1. Research, identify, and engage prospective clients through targeted outbound efforts including email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
  2. Craft compelling outreach that aligns with Mattered’s tone and values.
  3. Qualify leads based on business needs, budget, and fit.
  4. Set introductory meetings for the Partnerships team.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of prospect interactions within our CRM.
  6. Collaborate closely with leadership to refine outreach strategies, messaging, and targeting.
  7. Continuously develop an understanding of Mattered’s services and positioning to communicate value to prospective clients.
  8. Track and report weekly on activity metrics, pipeline generation, and learnings.

Requirements

  1. 1-3 years of experience in a sales development or similar outbound sales role, ideally within marketing, advertising, SaaS, or agency services.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Experience selling marketing, creative, or advertising services.
  4. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  5. Comfortable prospecting into senior marketing decision-makers (e.g., CMOs, Directors of Marketing, Founders).
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining a strong connection to the broader team.
  7. Experience using CRM tools to manage pipeline activity.
  8. A genuine interest in marketing, creative services, and business growth.
  9. A bias for action, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  10. Familiarity with brands in DTC and eCommerce is a must.
