Job description

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for generating and qualifying sales opportunities through high-volume outbound calling, email follow-up, and customer outreach. This role supports new customer acquisition, dormant-account reactivation, follow-up on marketing campaigns, and customer data cleanup.

The SDR will identify potential opportunities, understand basic customer needs, document activity in the CRM/NetSuite system, and route qualified opportunities to the appropriate Account Manager or sales team member for continued follow-up and account growth.

This is an activity-driven role. The ideal candidate is comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls each day, handling rejection professionally, staying organized, and consistently following up. Please note this position is also eligible for Monthly Performance Incentives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Outbound Prospecting and Lead Generation

  • Make a high volume of outbound calls each day to prospective, new, and inactive customers using RingCentral, NetSuite, and other company-approved systems.
  • Follow up on inbound leads, web inquiries, quote requests, marketing campaigns, and customer callbacks in a timely manner.
  • Research prospective customers and identify opportunities for new business through outbound phone calls, email, and other approved communication methods.
  • Contact dormant customers to understand changes in purchasing activity and identify opportunities to reactivate their business.
  • Reach out to newly created customer accounts to welcome them, validate contact information, introduce company products and services, and identify sales opportunities.
  • Qualify customer needs, document all activity in NetSuite, and coordinate handoff to an Account Manager or assist with new account setup when appropriate.

2. Customer Data and CRM Support

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of calls, emails, notes, customer information, and follow-up activity in NetSuite and/or the CRM.
  • Assist with customer account cleanup, including updating contact information, customer segment, account status, and other required fields.
  • Track outreach results, dispositions, and follow-up commitments.
  • Ensure customer records are complete and accurate before handing opportunities to Account Managers.
  • Work closely with Account Managers, Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations to support sales initiatives.
  • Provide feedback on common customer questions, objections, campaign results, and market trends.
  • Support outbound projects and other business-development initiatives as assigned.

4. Performance Expectations / Key Metrics

  • Average 5–10 outbound call attempts per productive hour, recognizing that call volume may vary based on live customer conversations, inbound calls, voicemail follow-up, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Generate meaningful customer conversations and qualified sales opportunities through consistent outbound prospecting and follow-up.
  • Qualify and refer appropriate opportunities to an Account Manager or assist with new account setup when applicable.
  • Contact and attempt to reactivate assigned dormant customer accounts.
  • Complete outreach to newly assigned customer accounts and maintain ongoing follow-up activities.
  • Complete follow-up on inbound leads, quote requests, marketing campaigns, and customer callbacks within established response times.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all customer interactions and activities in NetSuite and RingCentral.
  • Consistently meet individual performance goals established by management for outbound activity, lead generation, customer engagement, and CRM documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. (Required)
  • Previous outbound sales, telemarketing, call center, customer service, lead generation, or inside sales experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience using NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, or another CRM system. (Preferred)
  • Experience working with performance metrics, call-volume goals, or sales activity targets. (Preferred)
  • Healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory, pharmacy, or medical-product experience. (Preferred)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent. (Required)
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. (Preferred)
  • One or more years of outbound sales, inside sales, telemarketing, customer service, or call-center experience. (Preferred)

This is an onsite, office-based role. The employee is regularly required to communicate by phone, video, email, and in person; use a computer and other standard office equipment; and remain in a stationary position for extended periods. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move office materials and equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.This is a full-time, onsite position. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely use standard office equipment, including computers, phones/headsets, printers, photocopiers, scanners, and filing systems.

The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in noise level and requires regular interaction with customers, coworkers, and other departments.
