Job summary

Cockroach Labs is seeking a Sales Development Representative to build the top of the funnel and drive outbound prospecting. You will reach the right people at the right companies and set up opportunities for our sales team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

You will develop early-stage discovery, qualify leads, and work with AEs to ensure clean handoffs. You’ll grow technical fluency in CockroachDB and strive to exceed quarterly pipeline targets.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of lead generation or sales development experience.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate.
• Experience meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
• Experience using data to inform decisions.
• Strong strategies to meet targets.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) and lead qualification apps.
• Proficiency with AI tools to improve speed and quality.
• Fluency with AI in core tasks (research, drafting, planning).
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute a multi-channel outbound strategy.
• Research and prioritize target accounts using intent signals and engagement data.
• Leverage AI-assisted workflows to prospect at scale.
• Own early-stage discovery and lead qualification calls with relevant personas.
• Partner with Account Executives to ensure detailed handoffs.
• Develop technical fluency in CockroachDB.
• Hit quarterly qualified opportunity targets.
