Position Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDM/BDR) for Purofirst Disaster Services is responsible for driving growth by generating new business, managing existing key referral relationships, and expanding Purofirst’s presence across commercial, multi-family, agents and plumbers.
This role combines strategic outreach, relationship management, industry networking, and sales execution. The BDR promotes Purofirst as the trusted partner for restoration, mitigation, and reconstruction services while supporting clients through the insurance claims process.
This is a high-visibility, growth-oriented position within a recession-resistant industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Sales Responsibilities
- Clearly communicate Purofirst's services, processes, and value proposition.
- Maintain a strong understanding of restoration industry dynamics, insurance workflows, and commercial market needs.
- Develop and execute sales plans, territory routes, and outreach campaigns.
- Identify new target markets and emerging business opportunities.
- Maintain urgency, professionalism, and ethical decision-making in all interactions.
- Understand company gross profit requirements and align sales activity with operational goals.
- Recommend improvements for marketing, outreach, and customer engagement.
- Follow and support Purofirst's structured sales process.
2. Business Development & Relationship Management
The BDR will manage and grow relationships within both referral and commercial channels.
Core Activities:
- Conduct regular in-person visits, route stops, and site visit with a minimum of 25 Face-to-Face interactions per week
- Conduct 3-5 discovery meetings per week
- Develop and maintain key commercial and insurance referral relationships.
- Meet with Sales Management Consultant once a week and attend once per week group meeting.
- Build a robust pipeline within CRM and document all activity consistently.
- Deliver professional presentations to individuals and groups.
- Promote the Purofirst brand across all touchpoints with consistency and professionalism.
- Represent Purofirst at tradeshows, association events, golf outings, and community functions. Get involved and join a committee with LAA.
- Join approved key industry associations at a minimum of once per quarter.
- Support client appreciation events, open houses, and co-marketing opportunities.
- Help develop and distribute marketing materials, promotional items, and sales tools.
- Identify and pursue new outreach opportunities across target verticals.
4. Administrative Responsibilities
- Update pipeline in CRM one time per week while documenting activity in real-time or end of day.
- Send follow-up emails, thank-you notes, and information packets to prospects.
- Maintain prompt and professional communication with all clients.
- Complete and organize expense reports.
- Attend internal sales, marketing, operations, and claims meetings as needed.
5. Professional Development
- Participate in industry training, workshops, CE programs, and continuing education.
- Stay informed on restoration best practices, claims processes, and market trends.
- Engage with sales coaching or consulting programs when required.
- Bring forward new ideas to enhance team performance and customer experience.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of outside sales experience preferred.
- Experience in restoration, insurance, experience in selling to multifamily/agent services is a plus but not required.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present professionally to groups and executives.
- Highly organized with strong time-management skills.
- Experience with CRM systems and basic reporting functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Relationship-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently and within a team.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Willing to attend evening networking activities 1-2 times per month
- Outgoing, driven, collaborative personality with a focus on long-term relationship building.
