About KH Automation
KH Automation is the North American arm of KH Group (Kaihui Industrial), a manufacturer of industrial automation equipment and integrated production-line solutions. Our core products are automatic screw-fastening machines and labeling machines, along with integrated assembly lines, tooling and on-site technical services. We serve any industry that uses them: consumer electronics (3C), servers and data-center hardware, computer peripherals, and automotive, EV and battery manufacturing. We are building our North American team and need a sales leader to grow our customer base from Austin.
Role Summary
The Automation Sales Manager owns new business development and key account growth for KH Automation in North America. You will grow our business with leading ODM/EMS manufacturers at their US and Mexico sites, and open doors at other leading electronics, server and automotive manufacturers, turn opportunities into signed orders, and act as the bridge between US customers and our engineering teams in China. We value two things above all: proven ability to close deals, and existing customer relationships you can bring with you. This is a hands‑on, quota‑carrying role.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and win new accounts across consumer electronics (3C), servers and data-center hardware, computer peripherals, EMS/ODM contract manufacturers, and automotive/EV/battery plants in the US, Canada and Mexico.
- Build and manage a pipeline for our core products, automatic screw-fastening machines and labeling machines, plus assembly and test lines, material handling, tooling and fixtures, and on‑site technical services.
- Develop relationships across the customer's buying team: manufacturing engineering, project management, purchasing/supplier development and plant leadership.
- Lead the sales cycle from RFQ through technical review, quotation, negotiation and PO, working with our engineering team on solution design and pricing.
- Get KH Automation onto approved supplier / vendor lists and manage supplier onboarding requirements (quality, safety, insurance, compliance).
- Coordinate project handoff, customer visits, line buy‑offs (FAT/SAT) and payment milestones together with project and finance teams.
- Represent KH at trade shows and industry events (e.g., Automate, IPC APEX EXPO, The Battery Show) and through targeted outreach.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and monthly pipeline reports; share market and competitor insight with HQ.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of B2B sales or business development experience in industrial automation, assembly equipment (screw fastening, labeling, dispensing), robotics, system integration or a closely related field.
- Existing, active relationships with decision‑makers (manufacturing engineering, NPI, purchasing) at top‑tier manufacturers that you can bring to KH from day one, especially leading ODM/EMS contract manufacturers and their North American plants. Experience with major server, electronics or automotive/EV brands also counts. Please list the accounts you have sold to on your resume.
- A consistent record of meeting or beating sales targets, with closed deals you can walk us through (customer type, deal size, sales cycle). Experience selling capital equipment with long cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of automation (screw fastening and torque control, labeling, PLCs, robotics, vision, conveyors or similar); our engineering team supports deeper technical discussions.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 40-50% to customer plants across North America.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Contacts at new or expanding electronics, server and EV/battery factories in the US and Mexico.
- Experience getting onto a major brand's or EMS provider's approved supplier list (vendor registration, supplier quality audits, PPAP or similar).
- Experience working with overseas (especially Chinese) equipment manufacturers or engineering teams.
- Mandarin Chinese language skills are a strong plus.
- Familiarity with US safety and electrical standards (NFPA 79, UL 508A, OSHA) and customer‑specific equipment specifications.
- Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission tied to bookings.
- Health, dental and vision benefits; paid time off.
- Travel and expense coverage for customer visits.
- A high‑impact role building a growing North American business, with direct access to company leadership and engineering.
