Job summary

DeMontrond Auto Group is seeking an Automotive Sales Consultant to help customers find the best vehicle to meet their needs and deliver exceptional service throughout the sales journey.

You will guide buyers from initial inquiry to closing, explain financing options and warranties, conduct informative test drives, complete paperwork accurately, and build lasting relationships through consistent follow-up.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and ascertain vehicle needs through effective questioning and listening.

  • Guide customers through the car buying process from inquiry to closing, including financing explanations.
  • Provide customers with thorough and informative test-drive experiences.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and in compliance with dealership policies.
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up to build relationships and encourage referrals.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer buying behaviors.
  • Collaborate with sales team and other departments to ensure a smooth sales process.

Job description

The Automotive Sales Consultant is responsible for helping customers find the vehicle that best meets their needs, providing exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, and achieving monthly sales goals. This role requires a strong knowledge of automotive features, excellent interpersonal skills, and a customer-focused approach to ensure customer satisfaction and build long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Greet customers and ascertain their vehicle needs through effective questioning and listening.
  • Vehicle Knowledge: Maintain a strong knowledge of current inventory, product specifications, features, and accessories.
  • Sales Process: Guide customers through the car buying process, from initial inquiry through to closing the sale, including explaining financing options and warranties.
  • Demonstrations: Provide customers with a thorough and informative test-drive experience.
  • Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with dealership policies and legal requirements.
  • Customer Follow-up: Maintain ongoing communication with potential and existing customers to build strong relationships and encourage referrals.
  • Market Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer buying behaviors.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the sales team and other departments to ensure a smooth sales process and exceptional customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in automotive sales or a related field preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Business or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to understand customer needs and recommend suitable vehicles.
  • Certifications: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Working Conditions
  • This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, the ability to drive, and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as scheduled.
  • Must be comfortable working both indoors in a showroom environment and outdoors on the lot.
Performance Expectations
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and demonstrate consistent follow-through with clients.
  • Adhere to dealership policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all interactions.
