Sales Assistant
Position Overview
A growing wholesale company is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Sales Assistant to work closely with two key members of the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Buyer Support
- Provide day-to-day support to two key salespeople.
- Prepare for buyer and customer showroom appointments.
- Communicate professionally with buyers and their assistants, providing requested product, order, and account information.
- Complete and maintain customer item setup forms for purchase order creation.
- Assist the sales team with buyer requests and follow-up.
- Communicate buyer requests, product needs, and feedback to the production department.
- Help prepare the sales team for trade shows, buyer meetings, and presentations.
Inventory & Order Management
- Run, review, and understand Inventory ATS (Available-to-Sell) Reports.
- Review Open Order Reports against production deliveries.
- Monitor orders to help ensure products are delivered according to customer timelines.
- Identify potential delivery issues and communicate updates to the appropriate team members.
- Assist with price ticket and UPC information.
- Maintain accurate product and customer information.
Showroom & Sample Management
- Maintain an organized record of samples and packages sent to buyers.
- Manage and update the company's line sheet system.
- Organize samples and merchandise within the showroom.
- Ensure samples and sales materials are prepared for appointments and presentations.
- Help maintain an organized and professional showroom environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sales support, wholesale, fashion, accessories, merchandising, customer service, or a related environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with reports, spreadsheets, inventory information, and order data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and comfortable communicating directly with buyers and their assistants.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, requests, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong follow-up skills.
- Comfortable learning ATS reports, open-order reporting, UPC information, line sheets, and customer item setup processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office software preferred.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work closely with sales and production departments.
- Dependable, proactive, and eager to learn.Comfortable working five days per week in the Midtown Manhattan office.
