• Act as primary technical contact for customers during pre- and early post-sale phases.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to relay customer feedback and market needs.
• Maintain relationships with key accounts’ technical contacts and provide timely feedback.
• Develop technical specs and roadmaps for standard motherboards or systems.
• Review marketing docs for technical accuracy.
• Update CRM with technical responses and specs.
• Assemble testing prototypes and perform high-level troubleshooting.

We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales Application Engineer to support and drive sales of Industrial PC solutions. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales by understanding customer requirements, proposing tailored solutions, and providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. Candidates will work out of our Irvine, CA office and may require traveling as needed. BCM’s products are used worldwide by major OEM companies in industries such as medical equipment, digital broadcasting, retail transaction, self-service kiosks, security systems, and test & measurement industries to name a few. Title: Sales Application Engineer (ZR: SAE01)

Primary Responsibilities

1. Partner with sales team to identify customer needs and provide technical consultation on IPC products and solutions
2. Create technical specifications for non-standard or custom products based on customer requirements. Analyze customer application requirements and recommend appropriate Industrial PC solution
3. Participate in meetings with customers and BCM salespeople either in person, through web-meetings, or conference calls on a regular basis to deliver product presentations, demos, and technical workshops to customers
4. Respond to RFQs/RFPs, prepare technical proposals, and support quotation activities
5. Act as the primary technical contact for customers during pre-sales and early post-sales phases
6. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and market needs
7. Maintain working relationships with key accounts’ technical contacts and provide feedback and recommendations in a timely matter.
8. Create technical specifications and roadmap for standard motherboards or system products incorporating feedback from Sales, Marketing, customers, and Engineering.
9. Review Marketing documents such as product briefs, datasheets, web content, and product newsletters for technical and specification accuracy.
10. Update the CRM database with technical task responses and specifications.
11. Ablilty to assembly testing prototype and high level troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent/related Majors
• Ability to execute on priorities and have strong time-management skills. Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimum supervision.
• Strong technical background in x86 & ARM platforms. Self-driven to keep up with new technology and trends related to our products and the embedded computing industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Presentation skills required for product roadmaps and training.
• Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
• Fluency in English. Bi-lingual in Chinese is a plus.
• Able to travel as needed.
