Job summary

Broadcom is seeking a Hardware Applications Engineer to join our AI Networking Infrastructure team on-site. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide hardware technical support, board-level debug, and lab validation for Broadcom’s semiconductor solutions.

Responsibilities include design guidance, schematic/PCB reviews, and creation of design guides and notes, with a focus on enabling customers and accelerating product Bring-up in an on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) required.
• 2–6 years of hardware engineering, applications support, board design, or hardware validation.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering and PCB design fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience in a hardware lab with standard test and measurement equipment.
• Ability to create clear, customer-facing technical documentation.
• Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Role Overview

Broadcom is seeking a motivated Hardware Applications Engineer to join our AI Networking Infrastructure team on-site, working with Enterprise, high-growth Frontier Labs, and Hyperscalers. In this evolving role, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to provide hardware technical support, board-level debug assistance, and laboratory validation for Broadcom’s industry-leading semiconductor solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support & Design Guidance:

  • Provide hardware design support and technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assist with schematic and PCB layout reviews, component selection, and reference board bring-up.
  • Help create and maintain customer-facing technical documentation guiding board design, including design guides, application notes, and layout recommendations.

• Hands-on Lab Testing & Troubleshooting:

  • Perform hands-on board bring-up, debugging, and functional testing in the lab.
  • Utilize standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) to diagnose and resolve hardware issues.
  • Assist with basic board rework and electrical characterization.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering (BSCE), or related engineering field.

• Experience:

  • 2–6 years of experience in hardware engineering, applications support, board design, or hardware validation.

• Core Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of general electrical engineering and PCB design fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience working in a hardware lab with standard test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies).
  • Basic understanding of power management, thermal principles, and board-level interconnects.
  • Ability to create clear, customer-facing technical documentation and design guidance.
  • Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Familiarity with high-speed serial interfaces (such as SerDes) and signal integrity fundamentals.
• Experience evaluating DC-DC power converters or power delivery networks (PDN).
• Familiarity with AI-coding tools (Claude/Codex)
• Experience with high-speed PCB stack-up and impedance control design rules.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 101,000.00 To USD 162,000.00
