Job summary

Wilbur-Ellis, a long-established agri-business, seeks a Sales Agronomist II in California to manage existing and new customers, assist with product selection based on agronomic needs, and build profitable relationships across the territory.

You will identify key customers, support budgeting and forecasting, and implement marketing plans while traveling throughout the territory to meet sales goals and ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in sales or agronomy.
• Ability to work independently and travel within the territory.
• Knowledge of herbicides and fertilizers (dry and liquid).
• Develop working knowledge of local crops and market practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Degree in Agronomy or Agribusiness.

Role Overview:

The Sales Agronomist II will be responsible for managing existing and attracting new customers within the sales territory, assisting customers with proper product selection and use based on agronomic needs, and maintaining and developing profitable customer relationships.

What You Bring to the Role:

• 3+ years of experience
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to travel throughout territory and to periodic sales meetings
• Knowledge of herbicides and fertilizers (dry and liquid)
• Developing a working knowledge of local agricultural crops and market practices
• Proficient with computers utilizing Microsoft Office and Windows applications
• Agronomy/Agribusiness degree

• Apply data, reporting tools, and sales analytics to support forecasting, business planning, and data-driven decision making
• Demonstrate adaptability in learning and using emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, to improve productivity and customer engagement

Compensation and Benefits:

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $61,100 - $81,510. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
