Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a proactive sales professional to drive regular visits with current and potential customers in the steel market.

You will solicit orders, capture customer needs, and coordinate with operations and product groups to improve satisfaction and revenue. The role requires a 4-year degree and 2+ years in sales or customer service, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Regularly visit current and potential steel customers for soliciting orders.
• Discover and effectively communicate customer needs and expectations to appropriate people within SDI.
• Respond to customer inquiries effectively and promptly.
• Prepare and monitor monthly sales and shipments forecast by customer.
• Develop new customers within the territory for increasing revenue.
• Work effectively with Operations, Sales, Technical Service, Transportation, and Product Development to improve Customer Satisfaction.
• Monitor order performance, benchmark competition, and provide verbal and written feedback reports.
• Develop ways to maximize revenue and margins.
• Coordinate and participate in customer visits, tours, etc.
• Develop a strong rapport with customer’s entire organization.

Responsibilities

Regularly visit current and potential steel customers for soliciting orders. Discover and effectively communicate customer needs and expectations to appropriate people within SDI. Respond to customer inquiries effectively and promptly. Prepare and monitor monthly sales and shipments forecast by customer. Develop new customers within the territory for increasing revenue. Work effectively with Operations, Sales, Technical Service, Transportation, and Product Development to improve Customer Satisfaction. Monitor order performance, benchmark competition, and provide verbal and written feedback reports. Develop ways to maximize revenue and margins.
