Job summary

Brown University Health in Fall River, MA seeks a part-time Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures, prepare and position patients, and produce high-quality images for physician interpretation.

You will operate RIS/HIS systems, assist physicians in fluoroscopic procedures, manage contrast as needed, and ensure room readiness. ARRT certification and Massachusetts radiography licensure are required, with flexibility for overtime and on-call shifts.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1.Preparation, identification, positioning, protection and radiographic technique iDemonstrates competence in the preparation, identification, positioning, protection and radiographic technique of all imaging procedures.
• 2. Computer System Uses computer system (RIS/HIS) to document accurate and timely patient/procedure information to ensure efficient quality patient care.
• 3. Preparation/Set-Up iAssists physicians in fluoroscopicnterventional procedures and prepares contrast as needed. Ensures that imaging rooms are properly set up and functional before physician begins procedure
• 4. Technique iEmployee uses proper techniques that minimize radiation exposure to self, patients the general public and other health care personnel. Modifies care according to patient’s age.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education Requirements:Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography or Associate in Science Degree Minimum Work Experience:One to three years experience preferred, but not required Other skills and abilities:Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques, patient transfers, good communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks/projects, ethical and professional conduct, good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatrics and geriatrics. Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty, weekend rotations. Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology program(s).

Equipment/Software/Certification:Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in radiography, or equivalent. Renewed annually. Licensure by theCommonwealthofMassachusettsin Radiography. Renewed biannually Pay Range: $32.43-$47.66
