Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a part-time radiologic technologist to perform radiographic procedures and support fluoroscopic/interventional procedures at Saint Annes Hospital in Fall River, MA. The role requires preparation, positioning, protection and accurate documentation in RIS/HIS, while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Ideal candidates hold a radiography certificate or AS degree, ARRT certification, and be flexible for overtime, on-call, and weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Certificate Program in Radiography or Associate in Science Degree.
• 1–3 years experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques, patient transfers; strong communication.
• Certification by ARRT in radiography; MA licensure renewed biannually.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, identify, position, protect and image radiographic procedures with competence.
• Document patient/procedure information in RIS/HIS for efficient care.
• Assist physicians in fluoroscopic/interventional procedures and prepare contrast.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Preparation, identification, positioning, protection and radiographic techniquei Demonstrates competence in the preparation, identification, positioning, protection and radiographic technique of all imaging procedures.
2. Computer System Uses computer system (RIS/HIS) to document accurate and timely patient/procedure information to ensure efficient quality patient care.
3. Preparation/Set-Upi Assists physicians in fluoroscopicnterventional procedures and prepares contrast as needed. Ensures that imaging rooms are properly set up and functional before physician begins procedure
4. Techniquei Employee uses proper techniques that minimize radiation exposure to self, patients the general public and other health care personnel. Modifies care according to patient’s age.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum Education Requirements: Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography or Associate in Science Degree
2. Minimum Work Experience: One to three years experience preferred, but not required
3. Other skills and abilities: Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques, patient transfers, good communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks/projects, ethical and professional conduct, good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatrics and geriatrics. Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty, weekend rotations. Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology program(s).
4. Equipment/Software/Certification: Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in radiography, or equivalent. Renewed annually. Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Radiography. Renewed biannually

Pay Range:

$32.43-$47.66
