Job summary

Job Corps is seeking a Safety Program Director to lead the Center's Safety Department and oversee transportation safety. You will supervise staff, implement health and safety policies, and ensure compliance with OSHA and security regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field, plus several years in safety/security management and an active driver’s license. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in criminal justice or related field.
• Three years' experience in military, law enforcement, and safety/security management.
• OSHA Safety & Health Management Program training.
• OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training Program- General Industry training.
• Lead Inspector Initial Certification training.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Commercial Driver's License Class B with passenger endorsement within three months.

Responsibilities

• Directs operation of the Center's Safety Department.
• Trains staff on safety procedures and disaster response.
• Implements health, safety, environmental, and fire prevention procedures.
• Conducts regular environmental inspections.
• Develops emergency evacuation plans and coordinates with officials.
• Liaises with local law enforcement and emergency services.
• Manages department budget and approves safety requisitions.
• Oversees inventory of safety equipment and supplies.
• Plans overtime and on-call staffing to meet policy.
