Job summary

Transdev Phoenix is hiring a Safety & Training Supervisor to promote a safe, compliant work environment and lead safety training initiatives. The role requires CDL with endorsements, 3+ years in safety, and strong communication skills. You will manage training programs and coordinate with workers' comp and GL carriers.

The position offers an hourly wage of $24.25–$30.25 with benefits including 401(k) with company contributions, medical/dental/vision, and PTO. On-site in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, or GED required.
• Three years progressive experience in safety.
• CDL with endorsements (state CDL license).
• Pre-employment physical including substance abuse screening.
• Excellent motor vehicle record.
• Ability to operate a coach bus and understand CDL guidelines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Third Party Tester status for CDL.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload of two departments.
• Ability to analyze and formulate curriculum to meet training needs.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment and ensure policy compliance.
• Recommend measures to reduce accidents and hazards; schedule and document inspections.
• Coordinate on-the-job-injury and workers' compensation/GL carrier activities.
• Ensure employees are well oriented and trained for independent functioning.
• Conduct orientation programs and in-service training to continuously update skills.

Duties

• Responsible for promoting the maintenance of a safe accident free and healthy working environment; to achieve effectiveness for the company and ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures and regulations.
• Recommending measures to reduce accidents and hazards; and assure that safety inspections are properly scheduled, carried out, monitored, acted upon and documented.
• Responsible for company standards, coordinating the activities of on-the-job-injury and light duty personnel, workers compensation and general liability carriers.
• Ensure that the company has well oriented and trained employees who function independently and have confidence in their abilities.
• Conduct comprehensive orientation programs for new employees as well as facilitate in-service training to ensure that our team is continually updating and enhancing their skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, or GED required.
• Three years progressive experience in safety
• Must possess a state Commercial Drivers License with appropriate endorsements
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a substance abuse screening
• Must maintain an excellent motor vehicle record
• Must be able to operate a coach bus and understand state guidelines concerning CDL licensing programs
• Must possess or have the ability to acquire and maintain Third Party Tester status for Commercial Drivers License
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and be able to prioritize workload of two departments
• Ability to analyze and formulate curriculum to meet the training needs of the employees
• Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills a must
• Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office
