Job summary

Transdev North America in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, facilities, and grounds under general supervision.

The role involves painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC repairs, and preventative maintenance. You will use a variety of tools and may operate equipment like bucket trucks, cranes, and forklifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• One to three years of progressively responsible experience in building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and repair equipment.
• Ability to understand and interpret instruction manuals.
• Ability to perform inspections and maintain environmental logs.
• Subject to DOT drug testing if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine facilities maintenance duties such as painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC repairs, and other related assignments.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Performs non-routine repairs to equipment.
• Assists with moving furniture and equipment.
• Uses tools and operate equipment such as concrete breakers, bucket truck, cranes, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs routine facilities maintenance duties such as painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC repairs, and other related assignments
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Performs non-routine repairs to equipment
• Uses tools and operate equipment needed to perform job functions; equipment includes concrete breakers, bucket truck, cranes, forklifts, etc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
• One to three years of progressively responsible experience in building and grounds maintenance
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and repair equipment
• Ability to understand and interpret instruction manuals
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools
• Ability to perform inspections associated with various Environment requirements
• Ability to maintain Environmental logs
• Ability to perform PMs or various type of shop equipment
• Basic mechanical ability

Physical Requirements

• The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
