Job summary

SEPTA in Philadelphia is seeking a Safety Training Program Specialist to lead and coordinate the Authority-wide safety training program. You will develop, facilitate, and evaluate safety training across Occupational, Environmental, and Construction safety domains, including configuring computer-based training.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of experience in training design and delivery, with strong communication and computer skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Instructional Design, Human Resources Management, Adult Education, Behavioral Sciences, Statistics, Occupational Safety or related field plus three (3) years of related experience which includes developing and implementing training programs and/or working in a safety training role required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above-listed requirements.
• Strong planning, analyzing and administrative skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required, including technical writing skills required.
• Demonstrated record of developing training programs utilizing effective training technologies, (i.e., webinars, computer-based gaming, and simulations) required.
• Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated ability in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and improve safety training objectives, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate implementation of the Authority-wide Safety Training vendor contract and internal programs.
• Coordinate safety training programs and employee development initiatives.
• Evaluate classroom, e-learning, and simulations training for managerial and non-managerial staff.
• Ensure Safety Training Plan meets regulatory requirements and is followed across departments.
• Analyze data to identify future training needs to maximize development.
