Job summary

NSP is seeking a Safety Technician for 2nd shift in Owasso, OK. The role focuses on supporting EHS programs, conducting inspections, monitoring OSHA compliance, and training employees to foster a strong safety culture.

The position requires 1–3 years in safety/EHS, knowledge of OSHA standards, and good communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with OSHA 30 or First Aid/CPR certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in safety, EHS, or manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and hazard recognition.
• High school diploma or GED; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Safety certifications (OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety inspections of equipment, work areas, and processes to identify and correct hazards.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
• Assist with maintaining required safety records, permits, and reports.
• Support and conduct safety training programs, including new hire orientations, PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication.
• Help administer and maintain programs such as machine guarding, confined space entry, fall protection, and respiratory protection.
• Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents, near-misses, and injuries, and help implement corrective actions.
• Monitor chemical storage, labeling, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) compliance.
• Provide support in emergency preparedness and response, including spill response, fire prevention, and evacuation drills.
• Participate in safety committee meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource to employees for safety questions, concerns, and reporting.
