Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Safety Systems Coordinator to support the design, development, and production release of Building Construction Products (BCP) Machine Safety Systems.

You will be the technical liaison across product groups and engineering teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality machine safety features. The role combines individual contribution with cross-functional teamwork, requiring deep knowledge of CMS versions, software architectures, and safety-critical system

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
• Solid experience in software development, embedded controls, machine systems, or related engineering disciplines.
• Proven technical leadership and project coordination skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences including team members and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Integrated Machine Systems support for product group activities.
• Document requirements for regulatory compliance.
• Support software verification activities on test benches and machines.
• Configure and maintain test bench hardware/software environments.
• Develop, execute, and document verification and validation test plans.
• Evaluate and support development of new machine safety features.
• Gather, document and manage feature requirements and specifications.
• Provide technical support for machine development programs.
• Lead or support troubleshooting and resolution of software and system defects.
• Coordinate integration between ECUs, sensors, displays and third-party components.
