Job summary

Nomad Freight, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Specialist to manage violations, streamline tracking, and uphold high fleet safety standards. You will monitor FMCSA-related issues, coach drivers, and ensure timely resolution of court matters, all while maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9+ months of hands-on experience in US trucking safety.
• Understanding FMCSA regulations, violation types, maintenance logs, and driver compliance.
• Upper-Intermediate to Advanced written communication and verbal fluency for speaking with driver teams and US court clerks.
• High attention to detail to spot discrepancies, find root causes, and systematically resolve issues.
• Ability to manage violations and driver follow-ups end-to-end with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming fines, tickets, and DOT reports; log them accurately into the internal system and maintain a master tracking log.
• Investigate each violation by cross-referencing pre-trip inspection logs, maintenance records, and driver history.
• Conduct post-violation debriefs and coaching sessions with drivers to address errors and reinforce safety standards.
• Monitor pending driver court cases, deadlines, and contact courts/clerks when necessary.
• Implement corrective measures (retrainings, process tweaks) to ensure ongoing fleet compliance.

Investigate each violation to understand why it occurred by cross-referencing pre-trip inspection logs, maintenance records, and driver history. Conduct direct post-violation debriefs and targeted coaching sessions with drivers to address errors, reinforce safety standards, and prevent repeat infractions. Monitor pending driver court cases, keep track of critical deadlines, and contact US courts/clerks when necessary to resolve outstanding issues. Implement and monitor actionable corrective measures (retrainings, process tweaks) to ensure ongoing fleet compliance.

Minimum 9+ months of hands-on experience in US trucking safety (open to various previous job titles, provided you understand FMCSA regulations, violation types, maintenance logs, and driver compliance).

Starting base salary from $800/month (tailored to experience) + performance-based bonuses tied to efficiency and compliance metrics. Full-time, 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM (Chicago Time / CST). Work from anywhere with structured workflows and team support.
