Job summary

WTI Transport, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSR regulations and to enforce fleet safety policies.

The role requires auditing driver qualification files, monitoring Hours of Service, and educating drivers on electronic logging device usage with accurate error correction. The position involves applying FMCSA and CSA standards, implementing company safety policies, and presenting safety programs to groups.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and related compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal teams and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain DOT driver qualification files.
• Ensure driver compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
• Educate drivers on electronic logging device usage and correct errors in the E-Log system.
• Monitor FMCSA regulations and CSA requirements and ensure company compliance.
• Implement fleet safety policies and procedures as directed by Safety Manager/Director.
• Present to groups effectively and convey safety information clearly.
• Analyze critical event data and report findings to leadership.

Job description

The main objective of this position is to ensure compliance with all the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (DOT/FMSCR). The Safety Specialist shall have the authority in writing to implement and enforce all company fleet safety policies and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Audit and maintain DOT driver qualification files.
• Ensure driver compliance Hours of Service Regulations.
• Educate drivers on electronic logging device and proper usage, including correcting errors and omissions from the E-Log System.
• FMCSA regulations and CSA requirements and compliance.
• Implement all Fleet Safety Policies and Procedures as directed by the Safety Manager and or Director .
• Strong Presentation skills in group environments.
• Quick thinking and ability to multitask in demanding environment.
• Analyze critical event data and report to company leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations preferred .
• Able to work varying days/hours as needed.
• Ability to work in cross functional teams.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
