A leading theme park operator in Florida is seeking an EHS Trainer to assist in developing safety training and ensuring compliance with regulations. Qualifications

Compensation Rate: $15.00/hr

What You Get To Do
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and instructing EHS related training courses for ambassadors at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island.
  • Participate in EHS inspections focusing on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct inspections of work areas and ambassadors for compliance, audit vehicles and equipment for inspections, review training records, and chemical inventories and proper storage.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly regulatory inspections of the hazardous waste facility, collection sites, UST/AST, oil/grease containers, generators and any other potential pollution source.
  • Complete regulatory monthly sampling and reporting.
  • Collect environmental data and enter into Excel or other computer software.
  • Must be able to conduct all EHS classroom training sessions in compliance with OSHA standards and local, state, and federal environmental standards.
  • Develop training calendar.
  • Assist with the development of EHS projects.
  • Participate in EHS inspections throughout the park to ensure that all departments are in compliance with company, local, state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Develop corrective action plans and ensure completion.
  • Attend department meetings and general EHS sensitive meetings.
  • Conduct work required to maintain the hazardous waste facility and satellite accumulation sites.
  • Provide exceptional, professional guest service in a team environment.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and our Guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What It Takes To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related field preferred
  • 2 years of experience in EHS or a related field preferred
  • Must be certified as a CPR/First Aid/AED trainer or willing to become certified.
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Competent person certifications preferred
  • Theme park experience preferred
  • Ability to meet company driving guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
What Else Is Important
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
  • Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes
  • Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
