Job summary

Shirley Parsons has partnered with a Civil Engineering company who is looking to improve their safety program and add an experienced safety professional. This EHS Specialist role will be responsible for working with sub contractors and other employees on site to ensure all safety measures are being followed.

The candidate will support the creation and delivery of safety training, perform site safety audits and incident investigations, and help track trainings for on-site staff while ensuring

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a construction Safety role.
• Experience preferred in heavy civil projects.
• Strong communication and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation, execution, and organization of the safety training program, including onboarding sessions for new employees, assisting with weekly safety meetings, providing supervisor training, and delivering accident prevention education.
• Perform site safety audits as well as incident investigations and workers comp documentation.
• Track and lead all safety trainings of on-site employees.
• Assist with carrying out the project’s safety, regulatory, and environmental policies and programs, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal standards for everyone on site.

The Candidate:

• At least 3 years of experience in a construction Safety role. Preferred experience in heavy civil projects.
• OSHA 30, 500, 510 is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupation Health and Safety or equivalent degree is a plus.
• Strong communication and Microsoft office skills.
