Job summary

Shirley Parsons is partnering with one of the country’s largest general contractors to appoint a Project EHS Director for a major Data Center project. This leader will drive EH&S strategy, mentor the EH&S team, and ensure rigorous program implementation across the site to meet safety and client priorities.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety, 10+ years in construction safety with a general contractor, and experience overseeing a safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety.
• Experience in large projects over $800 million required. Data Center projects is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of safety experience within a construction environment, specifically with a general contractor, is required.
• Proven experience leading and supervising a safety team.

Responsibilities

• Develop a project-specific Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) strategy and operational roadmap with KPIs and milestones.
• Supervise site EH&S functions and promote collaborative engagement among project teams to support informed safety decisions.
• Ensure standards are developed, aligned, and consistently applied per company policies, EH&S programs, and project/client priorities.
• Convey the plan to project leaders and team members while engaging trade partners to support successful execution.

This individual will be leading the safety efforts for a large Data Center project. They will need to manage and mentor the project’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team while ensuring consistent implementation of all EH&S policies and procedures.

• Supervise site EH&S functions and promote collaborative engagement among project teams to support informed safety decisions and improved performance.
• Ensure that standards are developed, aligned, and consistently applied in accordance with company policies, EH&S programs, and both project and client priorities.
• Convey the plan to project leaders and team members while engaging trade partners responsible for their scopes to support successful execution.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety.
• Experience in large projects over $800 million required. Data Center projects is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of safety experience within a construction environment, specifically with a general contractor, is required.
