Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company is seeking a Safety Specialist for the Advanced Facilities Group. The role focuses on coordinating the field safety program for routine construction projects, conducting walk-through inspections, safety audits, and new-hire orientation, while monitoring compliance of prime contractors and subcontractors.

You will assist in investigations of accidents and collaborate with supervisors to implement corrective measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety and health-related field preferred.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular walk-through inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Conduct safety audits and document findings to support abatement.
• Oversee new hire orientation and drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitor prime contractor/subcontractor safety programs.
• Attend project meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
• Assist in safety program implementation and chair project safety committee.
• Investigate project-related accidents and recommend process changes.
• Coordinate with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely return-to-work.
