Job summary

Rite-Hite, a global leader in loading dock and door equipment, seeks a Safety Specialist to maintain a safe, healthy work environment at two manufacturing sites. You will analyze hazards, enforce OSHA/EPA compliance, and promote a safety-focused culture.

Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of related experience. The role involves training committees, inspecting facilities, and supporting workers' compensation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Knowledge of state and federal OSHA/EPA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Makes studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards.
• Formulates safety policies and procedures for OSHA/EPA compliance.
• Develops and maintains safety programs at two manufacturing sites.
• Consults with departments on design and use of equipment, safety programs, and fire prevention.
• Inspects facilities to detect hazards and recommends corrective actions.
• Trains and oversees site safety and ergonomic committees.
• Keeps managers and employees informed about hazardous substances.
• Participates in accident investigations and supports documentation for investigations.
• Compiles accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Supports workers' compensation administration and reduces lost time.
• Develops and coordinates safety training materials and campaigns.
• Maintains safety exhibits for display and promotional use.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent
