Safety Specialist

Goals and Objectives:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on our roofing projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive safety management experience in the roofing industry, an eye for detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures specific to roofing operations.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on job sites to identify potential hazards.
3. Identify safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
4. Train and educate employees on safety standards, policies, and procedures.
5. Communicate safety information and updates to employees.
6. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
7. Assist in investigating and documenting accidents or incidents, providing recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
8. Maintain records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
9. Monitor and report on safety performance.
10. Assist with emergency response planning and drills.
11. Support safety initiatives and collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to meet safety standards.

Position Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Safety professional in roofing or construction.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards related to roofing.
• Strong communication and training skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, CHST) is required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 3 years of safety experience, or a Bachelor's degree in safety management or a related field.
