Purpose And Scope

The Workday Security Specialist plays a key role in the organization by analyzing, designing, and applying solution approaches for security-specific requirements and changes, including production configuration changes in implementation projects, change requests, and support model break/fixes. This individual is responsible for correct security configuration and maintenance in Workday, based on approved requirements, policies, and collaboration with stakeholders like global process owners and functional SMEs. The role adheres to global change guidelines and data privacy/compliance standards. It also involves preparing security audits in partnership with HR and configuration SMEs, and providing role assignments based on approved requests.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Configure Business Process Security Policies and Domain Securities across functional areas including Core HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Talent, and Reporting.
• Research and resolve day-to-day security configuration challenges.
• Collaborate with Data Privacy, Functional SMEs, and HR to ensure security aligns with global design and privacy standards.
• Identify new enhancements and review feature releases for configurable security.
• Prepare, execute, and troubleshoot security issues during testing phases.
• Support audits on Workday Security.
• Manage access to Workday Tenants through role assignment activities.
• Understand business and HR requirements, proposing solutions with pros and cons, in collaboration with HR stakeholders.
• Define role-based and user-based security, ensuring alignment with business processes and roles.

Physical Demands And Working Conditions

Most work can be performed remotely from home or other locations. Travel is limited to a maximum of 10%.

Education And Required Credentials

• Bachelor’s Degree; an advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Experience And Skills

• 1-2 years of professional experience with Workday, especially in HCM security configuration and role management.
• Experience supporting or implementing Workday Security in a global environment.
• Customer support experience.
• Knowledge of Data Privacy and audit requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work across geographies and engage diverse teams.
• Proficiency in Business English.
