Job summary

Diversified Safety Services, LLC. is seeking an experienced Site Safety Specialist to support a Lakeland, FL construction project. You will drive a culture of safety, ensure compliance, and lead proactive safety efforts on a high-visibility site.

Responsibilities include developing safety programs, conducting JHAs, leading toolbox talks, and managing on-site safety documentation. The role requires strong OSHA knowledge and hands-on leadership on complex jobsites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on construction safety experience.
• 3+ years on construction/demolition projects.
• OSHA 510 certification required.
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification required.
• Bilingual strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead Safety Programs: Design and implement safety programs, plans, and JHAs.
• Monitor & Report: Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates.
• Identify & Solve Hazards: Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are put in place.
• Drive Engagement: Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Stay Present & Involved: Maintain regular on-site presence and participate in project meetings.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify all work follows manuals, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
• Oversee Site Activity: Supervise subcontractors to meet EHS requirements.
• Investigate & Improve: Conduct investigations for accidents and near misses; follow through on actions.
• Enforce Standards: Ensure proper PPE use and safety procedures.

This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale, high-visibility project.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.
• 3+ years experience on construction/ demolition projects
• OSHA 510 is required
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED is required
• Bilingual is strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
• Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.
• Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Professional presence on-site and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.
