Job summary

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to support a Fort Meade data center project, driving a culture of safety and ensuring compliance across all trades on site. Qualifications

• EM 385 1-1 40 hour training required.
• Board Certified Safety Professional and CHST or CSP credentials mandatory.
• Previous NAVFAC project experience required.
• 5+ years hands-on construction safety experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture: prepare and enforce health and safety policies on site.

• Ensure Compliance: verify work follows manuals, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: keep accurate logs of inspections and safety correspondence.
• Oversee Site Activity: supervise subcontractors to meet EHS requirements.
• Investigate & Improve: conduct investigations for accidents and near misses; implement corrective actions.
• Enforce Standards: ensure proper PPE use and safety procedures on site.

This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale data center project.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture: Prepare and enforce health and safety policies that build a safe, proactive jobsite environment.
• Lead Safety Programs: Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Monitor & Report: Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates
• Identify & Solve Hazards: Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are implemented.
• Drive Engagement: Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
• Stay Present & Involved: Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.

Project-Specific Requirements

• EM 385 1-1 40 hour is required
• Board Certified Safety Professional, CHST or CSP credentials are mandatory
• Previous NAVFAC project experience is required

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
• Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.
• Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Professional presence on-site and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.
