Job summary

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is seeking a Safety Professional for a six to seven week demolition project in Lakeland, FL. The role involves identifying hazards, communicating with site crews and management, and implementing safety programs under Federal, State and Local regulations.

Projected hours are 60 per week, Monday through Saturday. CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30, and OSHA 510 are required, with at least three years of relevant safety experience.

Qualifications

  • 3 years relevant safety experience required.
  • Current CPR / First Aid Card Required.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction and OSHA 510 certifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positive professional relationships with field personnel, management, and outside agencies during all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate and conduct audits of all crews to identify unsafe conditions and promote safe practices.
  • Document and communicate site audit information.
  • Audit training records of all field personnel.
  • Implement federal, local, and site safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Review client/owner specific requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in development of Site-Specific Safety Plans and safety meetings.
  • Review client requirements to determine compliance.

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is a Safety Services company serving the Construction and General Industry. The Safety Professional will be responsible for identifying safety hazards and communicating with site crews and management to mitigate these hazards. The successful candidate must be a team player, good communicator, and knowledgeable of Federal, State, Local, General Contractor and Owner Requirements governing the project.

Project Location: Lakeland, FL
Anticipated Start Date: 09/14/2026
Anticipated Duration: 6-7 weeks
Anticipated Hours/Week: Mon - Sat (60 hours)
Project Type: Demolition
Per Diem: Local only, no per diem
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Develop positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management and outside agencies during all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate and conduct audits of all crews to identify areas for improvement of unsafe work conditions and practices and recognize those for safe work practices.
  • Document and communicate site audit information.
  • Audit training records of all field personnel.
  • Implement all federal, local, and site programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Receive, review, and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports.
  • Participate with the development of Site-Specific Safety Plans and kick off/safety meetings
  • Review client/owner specific requirements and determine our client complies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Current CPR / First Aid Card Required
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Required
  • OSHA 510 Required
  • 3 Years Relevant safety experience required
COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to perform basic word processing and generate spreadsheets as necessary. Also, access and use the Internet and E-mail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to stand, bend, squat, sit demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see. On occasion, may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus.
