Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a senior security leader to oversee operations at public facilities, convention centers, arenas, or similar venues. You will lead security staff, coordinate emergency responses, and manage security programs in collaboration with law enforcement.

A Bachelor's degree is preferred with 5+ years in leadership roles. The role requires night/weekend availability, proficiency in Excel/Word/Outlook, and familiarity with security IoT.

Qualifications

  • Must possess working knowledge of security and safety programs for public facilities.
  • Five years in a progressively responsible security leadership role in a public facility, convention center, or arena.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to discern security threats based on information from law enforcement.
  • Prior management experience including directing, training, motivating, and evaluating staff.
  • Ability to provide clear, effective direction in emergency response situations.
  • Union-represented personnel and collective bargaining experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with security IoT.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Prints and reviews event resumes with team.

  • Ensures camera systems are recording and stored properly.

Job description

The Role

This leadership role is responsible for Adhering and training security to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, clients, and the facility while delivering a best-in-class guest experience.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational planning, emergency response coordination, and event security management experience within a public assembly venue, convention center, arena, stadium, or similar live entertainment environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervises and assigns security shift staff.
  • Conducts shift briefings with staff providing necessary information.
  • Reviews department checklist and accounts for all equipment.
  • Print and review Event resumes with team.
  • Notifies supervisor of necessary employee corrections.
  • Secures property.
  • Locks and unlocks facility doors as needed for events and staff
  • Conducts routine property walks.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Handles Incident reports & Property damage reports
  • Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
  • Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises.
  • Appropriately deals with "unruly" people.
  • Works independently and judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
  • Ensures security camera systems are properly functioning, i.e., recording and storing data.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Education and/or Experience
  • Must possess current working knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of public facility security and safety programs; crowd management and control techniques; principles of municipal budget preparation and control; pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Five (5) years of an increasingly responsible leadership role in the development and management of a security operation in a public facility, convention center or arena
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or related field preferred, and three years related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination and experience with developing and leading a security operation in a major venue
  • Ability to discern security threats based on information received from law enforcement agencies
  • Prior management experience, including the ability to direct, train, motivate and evaluate security staff
  • Must be able to provide clear and effective direction to staff in emergency response situations
  • Prior experience with Union-represented personnel preferred
  • Prior experience with negotiating collective bargaining agreements preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as experienced and knowledgeable about the security related IOT
  • Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Skills and Abilities
  • Experience as a security professional knowledgeable in security procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
  • Operate a portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, guests, and others.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
