Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Security Supervisor for a graveyard/overnight shift at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown LA.

You will supervise Security Officers, coordinate with local law enforcement, and ensure timely responses to incidents while enforcing security policies.

This onsite role requires a High School Diploma, 3+ years of security experience, a valid CA Guard Card, and availability for late nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift is 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years security-related experience; Legends Global/AEG Security experience may be counted 2:1.
• Valid CA State Guard Card.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of crowd management and effective crowd control techniques.
• Ability to train and direct new hires.
• Create, explain, and maintain an employee roster/schedule.
• Willing to work late hours, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Represent Legends Global and LACC in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Respond to all security needs and calls for service; coordinate with other Security team members and local law enforcement.
• Train, counsel, discipline, evaluate and supervise Security personnel per department policies.
• Manage hours of all Security Officers and Supervisors, including 24-hour and event staff.
• Enforce LACC policies and procedures; ensure timely response to violations and complaints.
• Follow all rules and regulations and ensure compliance by Security personnel.
• Work with Guest Services to manage large crowds during events.
• Ensure property is secure and protected against vandalism.
• Operate and monitor CCTV, Fire Control, radios, elevators, and lighting controls.
• Develop and maintain an employee and visitor photo ID/credential program.
• Collaborate with VP to update policies and the Emergency Evacuation Plan.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• THIS IS A GRAVEYARD/OVERNIGHT SUPERVISOR ASSIGNMENT. IF YOU ARE SELECTED YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED TO WORK THE 10:30PM UNTIL 7:00 AM NIGHT SHIFT. For regular (Day & Swing) supervisor FT/PT positions please search for the non-graveyard requisition(s).
• Respond to all security needs and calls for services; works with other Security team members and local law enforcement, as necessary.
• Train, counsel, discipline, evaluate and supervise Security personnel in accordance with the Legends Global Security Department's philosophy and policies.
• Manage the hours of all Security Officers and Supervisors in the department, including 24-hour Security staff and event Security staff.
• Proactively enforce LACC policies and procedures, ensuring timely response and follow up to violations and complaints from guests, clients, and employees.
• Follow all rules and regulations as outlined in the policies and procedures manual and ensure compliance by Security personnel.
• Work with Guest Services staff in managing large crowds under constantly changing event environments.
• Assure property is secure and that no damage occurs due to visitor negligence or vandalism.
• Operate and monitor security systems such as CCTV, Fire Control, radio communications equipment, elevators, and lighting controls.
• Develop and maintain an effective employee and visitor photo ID and credential program.
• Work closely with the VP to update policies and procedures, along with the Emergency Evacuation Plan.
• Other duties as assigned by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION)

• A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
• A minimum of three (3) years of security related work experience: Legends Global/AEG Security experience may be factored 2:1.
• Valid CA State Guard Card
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of human behavior, including crowd management principles, and the ability to implement effective crowd control techniques as necessary
• Must be able to provide training and direction to new hires in the department.
• Must be able to create, explain, and maintain an employee roster/schedule.
• Required variable work schedule such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to represent Legends Global and LACC in an exemplary manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (if applicable)

• Two (2) years of experience as a supervisor in a sports venue, entertainment, and/or convention facility.
• Previous law enforcement and/or military experience a plus.
• Prior experience interviewing and screening candidates for open positions within the department.
• Knowledge of scheduling software
