Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Safety Representative for a long-term Canton, OH project. The role focuses on daily field safety oversight of civil construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring OSHA standards and project safety requirements are met.

Ideal candidates hold CHST/ASP/CSP, CPR/First Aid/AED, and have 5+ years of construction safety experience. The position is 1099 contractor with a 60-hour week, overtime opportunities, and a completion bonus on a weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for civil construction crews and subcontractors.

• Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans for safety compliance.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching to craft personnel on safe work practices.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management and subcontractors.
• Assist in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Construction Safety Representative

Location: Canton, OH | Duration: 2 Years (Start: 10/12) | Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $56/hr | Per Diem: None | Completion Bonus: $150/month | Pay Frequency: Weekly | Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM | 60 Hours Per Week | Additional Schedule Details: Long-term project with consistent overtime opportunities supporting early-phase site development activities.

Required Qualifications

• CHST, ASP, CSP, or Other BCSP Credential
• Current CPR / First Aid / AED Certification
• Minimum 5+ Years of Construction Safety Experience Preferred

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide daily field safety oversight for civil construction operations
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas

• Monitor excavation activities, utility installation, grading operations, and heavy equipment activities
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
