Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Zero to two years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe job practices, proper PPE use, and guards are in place and operational.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses, identifies trends and causes, and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
• Collaborates with management to develop safety programs and incentives as appropriate.
• Conducts new hire safety training and ensures employees understand safety policies.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and coordinates safety initiatives.
• Maintains qualified personnel for first aid and CPR and inventory of safety supplies.
• Coordinates forklift training, annual fire inspections, and regulatory tours.
• Monitors hearing conservation program and medical-restriction work adjustments.
• Maintains communication with management, HR, and third‑party claims administrators.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and other required reports; prepares regular and special reports.
• Performs other duties as required.
