Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Deputy Safety Manager to support and lead the administration, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the City’s safety programs, policies and initiatives. This role provides operational leadership for safety functions including compliance, training, inspections, incident review, risk assessment, and program improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety-related field required.
• 7+ years of professional safety experience.
• Experience developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Support Safety Manager in administration, coordination, implementation and evaluation of safety programs, policies and initiatives.
• Provide operational leadership for safety functions including compliance, training, inspections, incident review, risk assessment and program improvement.
• Act on behalf of the Safety Manager during planned or unplanned absences to maintain continuity of safety operations and reduce risks.
