Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse partners in academic, research, law enforcement, and business settings.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Broad experience in emergency preparedness program management, planning, coordination, and training design.
  • Experience in operating an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and complex emergencies.
  • Public speaking and facilitation skills; independent decision making in dynamic environments.
  • Proficiency with Google and MS platforms; readiness to complete IC courses.

Responsibilities

  • Promote, coordinate, and implement all-hazards emergency planning and preparedness across the Dearborn campus.
  • Maintain and develop EOP, Hazard Mitigation, and COOP plans; oversee EOC operations.
  • Coordinate training and exercise programs; monitor policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Leverage technology and data analysis to improve prevention and preparedness capabilities.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders; support leadership with risk assessments and plans.
  • Available for emergency support and campus EOC activation; work non-traditional hours as needed.
