Zusammenfassung

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a Safety Specialist to help plan, implement, and audit safety programs across the Arkansas Kraft Division. You will support regulatory compliance, keep open lines of communication with employees, and drive Safe Working Practices within a union environment.

Responsibilities include developing safety programs, participating in audits, training materials, PPE oversight, and incident investigations. A Bachelor's in a related field plus 3 years' experience is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk management, or related disciplines preferred; experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational safety and health.
• Preferred Safety Certifications: ASP, CSP, OHST, etc.
• Ability to lead teams in a union environment and deliver consistent safety messages.
• Ability to develop, implement, and direct safety initiatives.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain safety programs compliant with federal, state and GBP requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all safety program elements in the Corp Safety Audit Program.
• Develop and maintain Process Safety Management requirements for mill operations.
• Maintain open communications with hourly and salaried employees.
• Encourage employee involvement and participate in the Safety Task Force.
• Liaise with Safety Champions and assist department projects.
• Assist in developing and securing training materials (SDS, Fork Truck training, 3E, Convergence, Disaster readiness, Active Shooter).
• Assist with mill physical hazards audits.
• Ensure required PPE is provided and used by AKD employees and Contractors.
• Assist in investigating all accidents, injuries, and tracking corrective actions.
• Train First Responder, EMT, Fire Brigade, Confined Space personnel as needed.
• Oversee that fire and medical equipment are maintained for emergencies.
• Perform new hire safety orientation as needed.
• Calibrate and monitor air/gas monitors.
• Manage Convergence Accident and Training Programs.
