Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Green Bay Operations is seeking a Safety Specialist to support OSHA/compliance, industrial hygiene, and risk assessments at the Green Bay Broadway Mill. This salaried role reports to the Manager of Safety & Health Services and focuses on coaching others toward corporate safety objectives.

You will lead safety initiatives, perform HIRA, support audits, and ensure effective execution of programs across all Green Bay operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Contractor Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering.
• 3+ years in safety/health, engineering, or leadership in industry.
• Manufacturing/industrial facility safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop employees using Principle-Based Management.
• Identify hazards and evaluate risk in equipment, processes, and operations.
• Ensure actionable safety strategies with metrics to monitor progress.
• Develop and implement fundamental safety programs (Industrial Hygiene, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, etc.).
• Work with safety and health programs including training and continuous improvement.
• Provide visible safety presence with operations, maintenance, and contractors.
• Perform Hazard Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA) and other risk assessments.
• Support safety audits and interactions with government agencies.
