Job summary

EWI Recruitment is seeking a Safety Programs Coordinator to support development and improvement of workplace health and safety initiatives across multiple teams in Fort Lauderdale. You will coordinate training, inductions, inspections and audits to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislation.

Job description

We are seeking a Safety Programs Coordinator to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety initiatives. This role will coordinate safety programs across multiple teams, helping to ensure that policies, procedures and practices meet legislative requirements and organisational standards. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with managers, employees and external stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture and reduce workplace risks.

Key responsibilities include coordinating safety training, inductions, inspections, audits and awareness campaigns; maintaining accurate safety records, registers and reporting systems; assisting with incident, hazard and near-miss investigations; and monitoring corrective actions through to completion. You will support risk assessments, review safe work procedures, prepare reports and contribute to safety committee meetings. The role will also involve responding to safety-related enquiries, helping communicate legislative or procedural updates, and assisting with emergency preparedness, return-to-work processes and other wellbeing initiatives as required.

Applicants should have experience in workplace health and safety coordination, administration or a related operational environment, along with a sound understanding of relevant safety legislation, risk management principles and incident reporting practices. A certificate or qualification in occupational health and safety, workplace safety or a related discipline is desirable. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality and build effective relationships at all levels. Proficiency with standard office software and safety management or reporting systems will be advantageous.
