Job summary

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is a Safety Services company serving the Construction and General Industry. The Safety Professional will be responsible for identifying safety hazards and communicating with site crews and management to mitigate these hazards.

The successful candidate must be a team player, good communicator, and knowledgeable of Federal, State, Local, General Contractor and Owner Requirements governing the project. 40/hour with a 4-5 month duration and 40-50 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Current CPR/First Aid Card is required.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification is required.
  • CHST and OSHA 500 are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant safety experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positive professional relationships with field personnel and management.
  • Audit crews to identify unsafe conditions and promote safe practices.
  • Document and communicate site audit findings.
  • Audit training records of field personnel.
  • Implement federal, local, and site safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Review client/owner requirements for compliance.
  • Participate in site safety planning and kickoff meetings.
  • Receive, review, and assist with accident briefs and safety bulletins.

Job description

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is a Safety Services company serving the Construction and General Industry. The Safety Professional will be responsible for identifying safety hazards and communicating with site crews and management to mitigate these hazards. The successful candidate must be a team player, good communicator, and knowledgeable of Federal, State, Local, General Contractor and Owner Requirements governing the project.

  • Hourly Pay: $40.00/hour (W2)
  • Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
  • Anticipated Duration: 4-5 months
  • Anticipated Hours/Week: 40-50 hours/week
  • Project Type: New Construction - Electrical Substation
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Develop positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management and outside agencies during all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate and conduct audits of all crews to identify areas for improvement of unsafe work conditions and practices and recognize those for safe work practices.
  • Document and communicate site audit information.
  • Audit training records of all field personnel.
  • Implement all federal, local, and site programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Receive, review, and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports.
  • Participate with the development of Site-Specific Safety Plans and kick off/safety meetings
  • Review client/owner specific requirements and determine our client complies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Current CPR / First Aid Card Required
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Required
  • CHST, OSHA 500 Preferred
  • 5 years relevant safety experience required
COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to perform basic word processing and generate spreadsheets as necessary. Also, access and use the Internet and E-mail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to stand, bend, squat, sit demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see. On occasion, may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus.
