Job summary

Medcor Inc is seeking a Construction Manager to lead the Construction Health & Safety team on an industrial project in Hartford, CT. The role involves supervising contractors to meet quality standards and schedule, acting as onsite client support, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and trades to resolve issues.

Ideal candidates bring 10 years of construction supervision experience, OSHA 30 certification, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Project, and Primavera.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in initial planning stage by collaborating with client architects engineers or other involved parties on behalf of our client; develops detailed description of jobs and materials necessary to complete project
  • Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budgets the time necessary to meet each deadline
  • Prepares and submits budget estimates and regularly communicates with client concerning budget progress and costs
  • Ensures adherence to the budget and when unexpected complications or issues arise makes quick and necessary adjustments with Project Management
  • Plans coordinates organizes oversees and directs activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned structures facilities and systems
  • Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction
  • Collaborates with client andor project owner contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems including work procedures complaints and construction or design issues
  • Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays bad weather or emergencies at the assigned construction site
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people including owners managers designers supervisors tradespersons and craft workers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

This position is a key team member of the Medcors Construction Health & Safety team and serves to oversee and coordinate various aspects of the construction project for our client This role involves supervising each contractor and or subcontractor to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to the project schedule This position acts as an onsite support role for our clients.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE

COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to perform basic word processing and generate spreadsheets as necessary Also access and use the Internet and E mail

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee may regularly be required to stand bend squat sit demonstrate manual dexterity climb stairs and ladders work on elevated platforms talk hear and see On occasion may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds during the workday Specific abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus
