Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a part-time Safety Partner to support the Nursing Resource Pool. This role involves working in multiple units to keep patients safe, including those at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, and agitation. Training is provided during orientation, with rapid CDCs for BLS and de-escalation.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
• Prior healthcare experience or enrollment in health science program strongly preferred.
• Completion of Sentara Safety Partner Training Course during orientation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, and self-harm.
• Work across various units in the Nursing Resource Pool at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
• Complete Safety Partner Training Course and core competencies during orientation.
• Obtain BLS within 90 days of hire; complete de-escalation and physical intervention training within 30 days (15 days for Behavioral Health).
