Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Safety Partner for the Emergency Department. The role supports patient safety by sitting with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors to maintain function during the hospital stay, working closely with a dedicated team to ensure care quality and safety.

Part-time position with second/evening shifts; requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Overview:

Full Time, Days 7:00AM-7:00PM Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department is hiring a part-time, second/evening shift, Safety Partner.

Department Overview:

The Norfolk General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit. Our Trauma One Facility is equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies, and approximately 10% are Trauma related.

Position Overview:

As a Safety Partner with Sentara, you will assist with keeping patients and the hospital a safe environment. The primary duties of this position include sitting with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors enabling patients to maintain function during their hospital stay. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:

• Prior Healthcare Experience or Enrollment in a Health Sciences Program

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $17.82 - $25.65 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
