Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Partner to join the Nursing Resource Pool. This unlicensed role supports multiple units, assists with admissions/discharges, and helps with daily care under a nurse's supervision.

Nights 7pm–7am with flexible on-call hours. Requirements include a high school diploma, BLS within 90 days of hire, and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certification. Sentara offers medical/dental/vision, PTO, 401k, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience is preferred.
• Certification options include CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related programs.

Responsibilities

• Support admissions and discharge processes and provide daily patient care.
• Change, bathe, and ambulate patients; observe and report changes to a nurse.
• Assist with blood draws and catheter care as directed.

Nights 7pm to 7amDepartment/Position Overview:Are you wanting to try out different types of nursing units-join the Resource Pool! This position will work in various units at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
